Telcel UP: protect your cell phone against damage, failure and theft

What is and how does Telcel UP work?

Telcel UP is a cell phone insurance valid for 18, 24, or 30 months, which allows you to protect your phone against damage, theft, or failure, and you can also renew your cell phone every year.

The insurance Telcel UP is only for users with plans for rent, which does not apply to prepaid or hybrid schemes.

How does Telcel UP work? It must be contracted when acquiring or renewing a plan with equipment or a maximum of 30 calendar days after hiring; the service consists of a monthly charge that is broken down in the Telcel invoice.

How much does Telcel UP insurance cost?

The insurance Telcel has different prices, ranging depending on the cost of the equipment. But in principle, the monthly premium must be paid, and in the event of a claim, the deductible, which, like the premium, varies depending on the equipment.

The insurance Telcel UP has an extra payment called ” administrative fee ” only applies when we make a change of equipment.

How to contract and activate Telcel UP?

All users with a Telcel plan and purchased company equipment can contract Telcel UP. You can activate Telcel UP insurance in three ways:

  1. When contracting the Telcel plan , you will be offered Telcel insurance and you can register there
  2. Calling from your cell phone to Telcel UP * 111
  3. Go to any Telcel Customer Service Center or authorized distributor

The requirements to contract Telcel insurance are:

  • Have no debts in the Telcel plan
  • Valid official INE ID or passport
  • Proof of address
